What happens when the image built around a person becomes something to hide behind? In Not Buddha, the enlightened one seems to leave his identity outside the therapeutic encounter. Yet the image remains close, shifting the question from who he is to whether it is ever possible, even for a moment, to stop being who others know you to be.
